Praise for Everyday Epiphanies:

“You cannot isolate eros from agape, the sensual Creation from the embodied human spirit. But it takes a life of scars and starlight to learn this by heart. Loss and discovery, the lively and the lethal, shadow and suntrap, are always intermingled in these verses. Seepage is everything. Our first of Spring is still the English Winter, and the Fall is still a harvest festival.  Here, then, are hymns to a hyphenated world, as in Lee's lovely Nativity poem, 'Mary' ”

Aidan Mathews, award-winning poet, novelist and radio producer, RTÉ.

“This book of poems expresses Christian spirituality in a far more intimate and revealing way than is possible from pulpit or rostrum. Each poem calls us to stop, consider and see the beauty and sacredness of everyone and everything around us.”

Sr. Stanislaus Kennedy, RSC, well know social justice campaigner, social innovator and author.

Originally from a farm on the shores of Lough Corrib, North Galway, Mary lives in Galway. She has taught at second level in Roscommon, and subsequently worked in the areas of community development and pastoral catechesis in Athlone. The struggles of those she encountered in her work situations led her to train as a psychotherapist, and to establish Vita House Family Centre, Roscommon, where she was Director of Services for twenty years. Mary has always had an interest in poetry. On moving to Galway she joined Kevin Higgins’s Thursday workshops which she has attended for many years. Mary combines writing with her voluntary work in the areas of leadership and psychotherapy. She writes poetry as an expression of gratitude for the myriad experiences and revelatory moments in nature and in social, church and community circles.
